Which is the best restaurant in LA?

discoganya asked the question:

I’m going to be there for a weekend trip. Which restaurant would you recommend?

Any (absolutely any) cuisine is OK, except seafood and steak. Moderately priced (<$100 for two). Wine or full Bar is a plus. Star spotting also a plus! 50 mile radius from downtown, suburbs OK.
thanks
Is domain name registration necessary for all business?

I know this isn’t a resturant - but you should definetly check out the Rockin Taco in downtown Fullerton. About 45 minutes outside of LA - it is FOR SURE the most fun you will have at a bar in LA.

    Spago Beverly Hills

Spago Beverly Hills, the flagship restaurant of Wolfgang Puck which opened in 1997, continues to set the standard for cuisine, service and style for Los Angeles’ finest restaurants and is an inspiration to chefs all over the world. Chef Lee Hefter creates imaginative seasonal menus that showcase the best of California’s produce and products in a sophisticated, elegant and warm environment designed by Barbara Lazaroff. As in the first of Wolfgang Puck’s restaurants, the kitchen – viewed through a giant wall of colorful, etched glass – is center stage for the art of dining. Original artwork and jeweled details surround the dining room settings and a beautifully landscaped garden patio is available year round. The restaurant offers two private dining rooms with a separate bar for receptions and functions. Spago Beverly Hills was awarded the Outstanding Service Award at the 2005 James Beard Foundation Awards.

You have two different questions here, if not three.

The best restaurant in LA is often considered to be L’Orangerie.

Moderately priced won’t bring you to ‘the best’. I can certainly say that Stinking Rose and some of the other places on here won’t be ‘the best’, either.

For celeb spotting, you want to find a place owned by a celeb or someplace frequented by them. My first instinct would be The Ivy in Bev Hills. It’s a paparazzi hang out. But, it may or may not fit your price range. Spago is another one, but I don’t know that it’s still one of the ‘it’ places. Ashton Kutcher owns both Dolce and Geisha House, both of which are celeb magnets. The Il Fornaio in BH is another place to consider. I’ve seen more than one celeb walk by as it’s only a street over from Rodeo. Hotel bars/restaurants in places like The Peninsula, Bev Hills Hotel, the Mondrian, and anything on the Sunset Strip are other places to visit.

Good luck to you and have fun. : )

Absolutely known for star spotting is The Ivy on Robertson Blvd and the food is good but expensive for dinner..go for lunch P.S. Also there’s the Palms on santa monica blvd for house music don’t knnow but the beverly hills hotel polo lounge is a hoot they have a piano bar
