Which state has the worst liquor laws?
splath63 asked the question:
I vote for PA, because you can’t get six-packs anywhere but a bar (beverage stores only sell cases - and yeah, you have to go to a different store for wine and spirits). And all PA stores are controlled by gov’t so there’s no competition, no lower prices. You’d think that a state that just legalized gambling would be more lax in their liquor laws. Oh, and they just recently let liquor stores be open on sunday afternoons.

Is bar-ware a good gift?
Nat asked the question:
My boyfriend doesn’t have anything, wine glasses, shots glasses, etc. He’s a country boy who drinks his wine out of a disposable cup with ice. Would bar stuff be a good gift? I want to get him something he will use and enjoy. Any ideas?

Can I mix modern with Old World style?
synergie_hfx asked the question:
For those interior decorators out there…. I live in an apartment and decorating is difficult. This apt has forest green carpet (I know lol) but I like this apt because it has a built in bar between the kitchen and living room. I decided to go with a wine bar theme for the place. focal point in the living room is an elec. fireplace, dark espresso finish. Modern coffee /end tables also in espresso, dark chocolate modern leather sofa and chairs, and ottomans… bright burgundy accents and pillows. Now, everything so far is modern…. I want to use all old world style accessories. Can I do this? I have antique leather bound books, treasure chests, wrought iron wall hangings and candle holders, antique pendulum clock , and tiffany style lamps. Finished color scheme would be dark brown, burgundy/wine, forest green, off white (walls), and some gold and wrought iron.
Can I mix modern furniture with old world style accessories and get away with it, or is this a no no in design circles?

Buying wine under age 21?
asked the question:
I’m only 20, but my husband is 22, he can take me into bars and buy me drinks but it’s so frustrating. Tonight I wanted to make him a special dinner and bring it to his work, but the recipe calls for wine. I forgot to have him buy some before he left today. So I’m really pissed that I’m legally allowed to go to bars and drink, but don’t even like wine, just need it for a recipe, and I can’t buy it! How can we change the law?!

What drinks are expected at a noon wedding?
SE asked the question:
We’re planning to have a noon wedding with a nice lunch buffet. What alcoholic drinks (if any) would people expect? Just champagne for a toast and possibly a couple of glasses of wine with lunch? certainly no one would expect a full bar at 1:00 in the afternoon, right?
Oh - I should probably add that an open bar is out of the question because we each have conservative family members who would be very upset by an unlimited flow of alcohol. I just thought that the champagne toast and wine with lunch would be a nice compromise between having no alcohol at all and having a bar.

What’s the best way to pick-up at a cocktail party?
Juan R asked the question:
I am going to a regional work conference this weekend. I do know that every night they will have an open bar with cocktails and wine. What are some things I can do to sleep with one of these women? Should I be really touchie-feely and see what other girls follow my lead?
I’ll keep some drinks in my room, and some protection.

Does anyone know what liquors don’t contain corn syrup or genetically engineered products?
Kristin A asked the question:
I know that organic beers and liquors use barley and other grains or juices without GMO’s, but what about tequila that’s 100% agave juice or brandy and wines….? My girlfriend works at a bar and we’ve recently cut GMO processed foods and corn syrup out of our diet, but she doesn’t know what she can drink…
